Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
The Vampire: The Masquerade series orginally began as a tabletop role-playing game.
The previous video game is Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, though this is not a sequel.
Unfortunately the game sold poorly, which wasn't helped by releasing at the same time as Half-Life 2. Also, when the Half-Life 2 source code was famously stolen, it also delayed the release of Bloodlines. This was because Valve's contract for Troika's use of the Source engine stated that Bloodlines could not be released before Half-Life 2.
However, it still has a cult following due to being so unique, and is known among fans as a flawed masterpiece.
