3 companies merge to become CTR

3 companies merge to become the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company, CTR, the forefather of IBM.

These companies were:

  • The Computing Scale Company
  • The Tabulating Machine Company
  • The International Time Recording Company

The new company is based in New York City and has 1,300 employees.

Later, in 1924, CTR became International Business Machines, better known as IBM.
