Research Comments: This is the second part of an in-depth report by Thomas Raymond Thompson (TRT) and Oliver Standingford on their visit to the USA in May and June 1947. It was during this visit that they learned of the development of EDSAC in Cambridge, England!

This second section is dedicated to 'Systems Research'.

The authors refer to the work of the American National Office Machinery Association (NOMA) and  highlight the General Foods Corporation as providing the most striking results in Systems Research. (LM)
