The Mains Adaptor connects the Acorn Pocket Book to a standard 13 amp 220/240V mains power supply to provide an alternative power source to the batteries. When used in conjunction with the desktop links, the Mains Adaptor can extend battery life considerably, since the desktop links require significant power to drive the serial port.
