Description :

Join us for an intermediate-level Scratch workshop where we recreate Atari's 1980 arcade game Missile Command. Learn about the origins of the game before jumping into Scratch development. While this is suitable for learners of any level, we recommend watching some of our Scratch videos to familiarise yourself with the fundamentals of Scratch.

This workshop is aimed at children aged 9 years and older and is ideal for children at upper KS2 or KS3 level.
Please note that all under 14's must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The fee is £15 for workshop participants, whether an adult or a child.  Accompanying adults are charged our standard entry fee of £9.
Date: Saturday 7th August 2021
Time: 11am-1pm
This workshop will start at 11am promptly, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Although the workshop booking is for a specific time slot, entry to the Centre is permitted all day*. The Centre is open from 10am.

Snacks will be available from our Pac-Lunch Shop. There's plenty of seating for parents :)

Spaces for these exciting hands-on workshops are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place.

Payment is taken by PayPal immediately. Please print a copy of the receipt that is displayed at the end of the payment process and bring it with you as your e-ticket.
At this time, Covid-19 measures are subject to change. Regardless of government guidelines, we will still be requesting that all visitors wear face coverings, and we will make them mandatory during workshops for the safety of our staff and other participants.
*If we are still maintaining the 13:15-13:45 closure, your workshop ticket will be valid for a museum visit in both halves of the day.

By booking, you are agreeing to comply with our current Covid-secure requirements, detailed on this page: What to expect when visiting during Covid-19.

We request that all groups are limited to 6 people.

We've done a huge amount of work to make the museum a COVID secure environment. We have installed 6 extra hand sanitising stations, created protective covers for our computers allowing us to wipe them down effectively, implemented a booking system and the NHS track and trace system, created 'bubble' zones and all whilst trying to keep the exhibition as interactive as we can.

It is a legal requirement for every person aged over 16 in your group to scan the Track & Trace QR code upon entry. If you do not have a device to do this with, please declare this at front desk on arrival and we will register your details manually.

We do ask you to help us create a safe environment too. We require that you wear a mask, sanitise your hands at each station, and socially distance from others, remaining in your social bubble throughout your visit.

We really look forward to seeing you soon!

Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum!
