Electronics Lab: Build an Electronic Dice - Thursday 25th July 2024
Description : Come and build yourself an Electronic Dice! Ideal for budding electronics engineers or anyone interested in learning to solder, this is a great project where you build an electronic dice that will revolutionise the way you play board games! For this activity we'll be turning our classroom into an Electronics Lab. We'll have soldering stations set-up and our in-house electronics expert will help you assemble, solder and test an Electronic Dice ready to take home with you. We'll provide all the components and tools you need. Just come along and enjoy the creativity of making your own electronic circuit. No electronics experience is required, although you will need a steady hand. This is a lively and challenging workshop aimed at children aged 10+. Please note: Whilst we'll make every effort to help ensure your Electronic Dice works, careful assembly and soldering is required and we cannot be held responsible for any non-working dice due to poor assembly. The fee is £30 per participant in this workshop and includes entry to the museum all day. For participants under the age of 14, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them. Accompanying adult tickets can be purchased for the normal museum entry price of £12 and include admission to the museum all day. Date: Thursday 25th July 2024 This workshop will start at 2 pm promptly, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early.
Although the event booking is for a specific time, entry to the Centre is permitted all day. The Centre is open from 10am. Snacks will be available from our Pac-Lunch Shop. There's plenty of seating for parents :) Spaces for these exciting hands-on events are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place. Payment is taken by PayPal immediately. Please print a copy of the receipt that is displayed at the end of the payment process and bring it with you as your e-ticket. Cancellations: We are unable to provide refunds for cancellations in the 14 days prior to the workshop. This is because we will have purchased the kits. However, you are still welcome to collect your kit from the museum during our normal opening hours. Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
