Musical Code with Sonic Pi - Tuesday 5th August 2025

Description : Calling young music makers! Come and learn how to use Sonic Pi on the Raspberry Pi to create some amazing tunes. Writing good code is a lot like making beautiful music - in this case, literally! Sonic Pi brings together two kinds of creativity by combining code writing with music composition. As the creator Sam Aaron says, '...(it is) the sound of code'! This workshop is ideal for those aged 8 and older, ideal for those at upper KS2 and KS3 level. The fee is £16 per participant in this workshop. For participants aged 14 or under, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them. Accompanying adult tickets can be purchased for the normal museum entry price of £12. Date: Tuesday 5th August 2025 This workshop will start at 2 pm promptly, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Although the event booking is for a specific time, entry to the Centre is permitted all day. The Centre is open from 10am. Snacks will be available from our Pac-Lunch Shop. There's plenty of seating for parents :) Spaces for these exciting hands-on events are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place. Payment is taken by PayPal immediately. Please print a copy of the receipt that is displayed at the end of the payment process and bring it with you as your e-ticket. Cancellations: Due to the limited number of places available for this event, we are unable to refund tickets when cancelled less than 7 days before the event.
