Can We Fix It? Repair-A-Gadget - Thursday 31st July 2025
Description : Repair a broken games console and learn more about the 'magic' that makes this popular gadget work. Do you like taking things apart to see how they work? Wouldn't it be fun to learn how to repair a gadget? Come and find out in this fun, hands-on workshop where we will be fixing a broken games console while learning about electricity, circuits and the different components that make up this gadget. No electronics experience is required although you will need a steady hand to assemble the components. This is a great workshop aimed at children aged 10 years and older. This workshop session is priced at £12 per participant and includes entry to the museum! For participants aged 14 or under, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them. Accompanying adult tickets can be purchased for the normal museum entry price of £12. Please note that we will be using our classroom kits for the session and you will not be able to take these away at the end. Date: Thursday 31st July 2025 This workshop will start promptly at 2 pm, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Please note: Whilst we'll make every effort to help ensure your game works, careful assembly and soldering is required and we cannot be held responsible for any non-working kits due to poor assembly. Although the event booking is for a specific time, entry to the Centre is permitted all day. The Centre is open from 10am. Snacks will be available from our Pac-Lunch Shop. There's plenty of seating for parents :) Spaces for these exciting hands-on events are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place. Payment is taken by PayPal immediately. Please print a copy of the receipt that is displayed at the end of the payment process and bring it with you as your e-ticket. Cancellations: Due to the limited number of places available for this event, we are unable to refund tickets when cancelled less than 7 days before the event.
