BTBE Repair Cafe Team

9th August 2025

The third event as part of the Broken Tech, Broken Earth Project, we organised a repair cafe at the museum! We had 123 visitors and tackled 60 repair jobs! The event was able to save 696kg of CO2 emissions by repairing visitor's broken items and giving them a second life!

The event would not have been possible without a dedicated team of incredible volunteers. This was the biggest event we have held as part of the Broken Tech, Broken Earth Project in terms of numbers of volunteers on site supporting the event. We had 21 volunteers and several members of staff helping out on the day to repair items from electronics, bikes to textiles, we also had runners communicating with the front desk and repairers. There were volunteers running the cafe providing free drinks and cake to people with repair bookings. Great teams really do produce great results!
