The NeXTstation was a high-end workstation computer, released by NeXT in 1990. The Turbo models were later released in 1992. The computer was designed as a lower-cost option to the NeXTcube, starting at $4,995, compared to the $7,995 for a NeXTcube. There were four models available: the NeXTstation (25 MHz), the NeXTstation Color (25 MHz), and Turbo versions of each which ran at 33 MHz. They ran the NeXTSTEP operating system, a UNIX-based system. The lower spec and limited expandability of the NeXTstation allowed it to fit into a small pizza-box style case, and was nicknamed "the slab". This example in our collection is the TurboColor model. It came with 16MB or 32MB as standard, and was expandable up to 128MB. The Color and TurboColor models supported 12-bit colour graphics from a separate 1.5MB VRAM. They came with the MegaPixel Color Display, a 17-inch colour monitor. Manufacturer: NeXT Comment on This Page Other Systems Related To NeXTstation TurboColor N1200:
