Ultima II Map of Earth
A cloth map to accompany the game "Ultima II: The Revenge of the Enchantress". Sierra's willingness to manufacture the cloth maps for this game was what made Richard Garriott decide to work together with them. One utility of this map is the depiction of how the time doors are connected to each other, by showing the location of each door in the respective time period and to where it leads. Without the map, it is challenging to understand the system. There are several versions of the map: the original one released in the first release as shown here, which sports a Sierra logo; the second, which is still the same but with the new Sierra logo on it, from a later release; and the third from an even later release which has no logos (not even of the game title) on it at all, but is smaller and made of nylon, with the colors stronger than in previous issues. The third issue also has a version with even stronger colors. Even later issues of the game only had a paper map, as the one shown here. Paper maps were also included in the Ultima Trilogy I and the Ultima I-VI Series, all of them in color except for the Korean edition. In Japan, the first ports done by StarCraft used the normal map. However, the later ports done by Pony Canyon used a new cloth map. While the line art on it is still the same, the colors were completely redone, giving the map a very different feel.
