Mario Kart Tournament - Friday 14th August 2026

Fancy yourself a bit of a racer? ...Got the drift boost down to a fine art? Not scared of a little snaking? Then come down to the Centre for Computing History to test your mettle on Mario Kart 8 on the WiiU.

We're looking for 16 racers to go head-to-head over a three-stage tournament.

Choose your racer, hit the tarmac and stand to win a prize in our epic tournament.

Engines start at 11am, but get there early to add your name to the sign-up sheet.
Come down and put your skills to the test!

Under 13's only.

The event is free and you do not need to book (although museum entry charges apply - £12 for adults, £8 for children, £10 for concessions and students, £23.50 for a family ticket of one adult and two children, £17 for 1 adult and 1 child, and £34 for a family ticket of two adults and two children). The ticket includes entry to the museum for the whole day. Please note that children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The event will start at 11 am promptly, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Although the event booking is for a specific time, entry to the Centre is permitted all day. The Centre is open from 10am.

Snacks will be available from our Pac-Lunch Shop. There's plenty of seating for parents :)

Spaces for these exciting hands-on events are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place.

Payment is taken by PayPal immediately. Please print a copy of the receipt that is displayed at the end of the payment process and bring it with you as your e-ticket.
