Electronics Lab: Keep the Beat - Thursday 20th August 2026
|
Description : Calling all budding musicians! Shake up your music practice sessions with a digital metronome that you built yourself! Come and learn how to solder and build yourself a simple, digital metronome to help you keep track of the beat. No soldering experience is required although you will need a steady hand to assemble the components and use our tools. This is a great workshop aimed at children aged 11 years and older. This workshop session is priced at £32.50 and includes the admission price of 1 child with an accompanying adult to the museum and the cost of the kit that you will take away! For participants aged 14 or under, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them. Date: Thursday 20th August 2026 This workshop will start promptly at 11 am, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Please note: Whilst we'll make every effort to help ensure your game works, careful assembly and soldering is required and we cannot be held responsible for any non-working kits due to poor assembly. Although the event booking is for a specific time, entry to the Centre is permitted all day. The Centre is open from 10am. Snacks will be available from our Pac-Lunch Shop. There's plenty of seating for parents :) Spaces for these exciting hands-on events are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place. Payment is taken by PayPal immediately. Please print a copy of the receipt that is displayed at the end of the payment process and bring it with you as your e-ticket. Cancellations: We are unable to provide refunds for cancellations in the 14 days prior to the workshop. This is because we will have purchased the kits. However, you are still welcome to collect your kit from the museum during our normal opening hours. Image credit: Carolina Rabei Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
