This edition applies to Version 2 Release 4 of MVS/Extended Architecture Data Facility Product, Program Number 5665-XA2, and to any subsequent releases until otherwise indicated in new editions or technical newsletters. This book is intended to help you use the MVS/Extended Architecture Data
Facility Product utility programs to manipulate system and user data and data sets. It contains information on the MVS/XA DFP utility programs. Unless spe cifically stated otherwise, the information in this book must not be used for pro gramming purposes. However, this book also provides the following types of information, which are explicitly identified where they occur: I General-Use Programming Interface General-use programming interfaces are provided to allow you to write pro grams that use the services of MVS/XA DFP. I End of General-Use Programming Interface I Internal Product Information Internal product information is provided as additional guidance on using some of the MVS/XA DFP utility programs. This internal information should never be used as programming interface information. I End of Internal Product Information Organization Throughout this book, the term "DFDSS" refers to either the IBM Data Set Ser vices product or an equivalent product.
