Museum Helps Microsoft Tell Their Story

The Centre for Computing History has recently worked with Momentum Worldwide to help create an interactive timeline exhibit for the Microsoft 'Future Decoded' event.

The timeline featured IBM PC and XT computers running the first version of Windows allowing users to experience MS Paint and Write as it was back in 1985! Our staff were on hand to chat to visitors about the changes brought about by technology and some Microsoft specific history.

Later in the timeline Windows 95 featured along with Microsoft Pinball and extracts from the historic Windows 95 launch event playing on a VHS Video TV of the era.

The original Xbox video game console represented Microsoft's entry into the gaming market and proved a big hit with visitors too. Bringing the timeline up to date was Hololense.

Visitors to the event loved the display taking selfies and photographs of the display which then featured heavily in the #FutureDecoded tagged tweets and instagram posts for the event!

We'd like to thank Momentum Worldwide and Microsoft for the opportunity.
