Microsoft releases Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 was a home video game console from Microsoft. It was the successor to the original Xbox.

At launch, there were two Xbox 360 configurations: premium ($399) and core ($299). The core package contained a wired controller, standard A/V cable, and the console itself. The premium package added a hard drive, remote, HD cables, and a wireless controller.

Microsoft released Xbox 360 in North America on the 22nd November 2005, followed by Europe on 2nd December 2005, Japan on 10th December 10 2005, and Australia on 23rd March 2006.
