The DECpc 425SL/e Notebook uses Intel's i486SL processor, a full-functioning 25 MHz i486 made just for notebooks. It features the functionality of a desktop PC, with a removable hard disk, expandable memory, a docking connection, and two PCMCIA slots for miniature option cards. The SL's monochrome screen is even upgradable to active matrix colour.
