Another World, known as Out of This World in North America, was a 1991 cinematic platformer action-adventure game designed by Éric Chahi and published by Delphine Software.

Another World was designed and developed by Chahi over a period of about two years, with Jean-François Freitas helping with the soundtrack. Chahi developed his own game engine, completing all the game's art and animations in vector form to reduce memory use, with some use of rotoscoping to help plan out character movements and told with few language or user-interface elements.

Chahi had previously worked as a game programmer and then as a graphic designer for video games since 1983. The success and royalties from his earlier work as a graphic designer for Future Wars  allowed him to develop Another World without constraints or any editorial pressure.

The game tells a story of Lester, a young scientist who, as a result of an experiment gone wrong, finds himself on a dangerous alien world where he is forced to fight for his survival. It is a platform game, where the player uses either the keyboard, joystick or gamepad to make the protagonist run and jump.

The Apple IIGS port in 1992 contains a prologue before the introduction begins, which consists of an entry that comes from Lester's diary.
