This is an RM nimbus S-Series PC-486, and is PC-compatible, using an ISA bus. This machine is fitted with a Mitsumi CD-ROM drive using caddies to hold the disks.  It is fitted with 16 Mbytes of RAM, and runs Windows 3.1 and MS-DOS 5.

S-Series machines were the last in the RM Nimbus range, but could still boot off an RM NET network if fitted with an AT/2 or AT/3 ethernet card and a similar card was installed in the X series server. Remote boot roms were fitted to the workstation network card and allowed them to load their operating system directly off the server.
