Nintendo releases the Nintendo 3DS

The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld game console developed by Nintendo.

The Nintendo 3DS could display graphics with 3D effects without the need for 3D glasses. A parallax barrier produces the 3D effect, using precisely spaced directional slits to present a different image to each eye, creating a sense of depth.

Nintendo released the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on 26th February 2011, and the rest of the world during March 2011.

Launch titles included Steel Diver, Super Monkey Ball 3D, and Rayman 3D.
