Commodore announces the Amiga CD32 game console

Commodore announced the Amiga CD32 at the Science Museum in London, United Kingdom on 16th July 1993. It was released in September 1993.

Commodore marketed the CD32 as the world's first 32-bit CD games console, but that title actually belongs to the FM Towns Marty, a console available only in Japan which was launched in February 1993.

The CD32 was based on Commodore’s Advanced Graphics Architecture Chipset, and had a similar specification to the Amiga 1200 computer.
