Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, dies age 56

On 5th october 2011, Steve Jobs, co-founder and forner CEO of Apple died. 
 
He had been suffering from Pancreatic cancer since 2004.
 
He introduced the colourful iMac computer, the iPod and the iPhone to the world. The Apple II computer became the first to gain widespread popularity and in 1984 the Macintosh computer became the blueprint for modern day personal computing.
 
He also pioneered 'niche' technology such as the graphical window-baed interface and the mouse, making them both popular with the general public.
 
His death came just a day after Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 4S model.
 
Apple said his "brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve".
 
Steve Jobs Launched Apple along with Steve Wozniak in 1976 and the first Apple computer hit the High Street in the same year. 
 
Following a series of disputes, he left Apple in 1985 but returned in 1996, becoming CEO in 1997.
