BCL Susie V
Susie V was manufactured by a British company BCL - Business Computers Limited in 1970
SUSIE V was one of a family of British on-line desk-sized electronic computers simply controlled and specifically designed for use in Commerce and Industry. It can be programmed for:
Sales and purchase ledger
Sales and purchase analysis
Product group analysts
Representative analysis „
Financial and management reports of all kinds.
SUSIE has a storage capacity from 8 to 130,000 words, all with direct access from keyboard, paper tape, edge-punched cards or programme. And further information such as names and addresses, commodity descriptions, prices, account balances, stock balances, re-order levels and analysis are readily available as information for further processing or print-out in both alpha and/or numeric modes.
Modern technology plus the use of silicon integrated circuits throughout provide great speed and flexibility.
Susie has only just arrived with us so that photographs and details will be added in due course although the Magnetic Drum Storage unit from Memoria is shown in one of the pictures. This is type SD-2505 with a serial number of 7004566 and a manufacturers date of October 1970 although the control panel has a date of the 29th June 1971.
This is a great addition to our BCL Susie Mk 2 which you can see at
We are extremely grateful for this very kind donation from Ian Abernethy
