• The VMS Version 5.3 installation procedure
• The VMS Version 5.3 upgrade procedure
• Installing VMS DECwindows software

If you are going to install the VMS operating system, follow the installation procedure in this guide. Refer to the VMS installation and operations guide for your VAXcomputer for information specific to your computer. Information specific to your computer includes such tasks as turning on the system, booting standalone BACKUP, and booting tiie new system disk.

If you are going to upgrade to Version 5.3 of the VMS operating system, follow the upgrade procedure in this guide.
