This portable CD-ROM drive is part of the Freecom IQ series of peripherals. It can read CD-ROM discs at up to 24x speeds and can be powered either by a removable battery pack or an external DC supply (13.5V not supplied). It connects to a host PC through a parallel port and can be optionally powered this way. Our unit includes the parallel-to-PCMCIA converter card allowing it to be used with a laptop computer.
