Description : This workshop is now fully booked. Cambridge computing supremo, founder of Raspberry Pi and long term computing fanatic, Eben Upton, will be helping you write a retro computer game using our BBC Micro computers from 1981! Based around the classic 'Horace Goes Skiing' game for the Sinclair Spectrum, Eben will show you how the game mechanics work and how to write and modify your game in easy to understand stages. You'll be writing your code in BBC BASIC - a language no longer used in today's gaming world, but the fundamentals of programming have not changed making this workshop still very relevant today. Indeed, there are many similarities between BBC BASIC and modern languages like Python.
