Geofox the company was based in Cambridge, with an office in Austin, Texas, and was founded in 1996 by a team including people from Tadpole, the maker of Intel and SPARC high end laptops.

This was the first non Psion PDA to use a Psion operating system, and was very close to the Psion 5, but incorporating new features such as the touch pad.

It came with software built-in in the form of a navigator and a chess program. It had a good few built in applications, such as notepads, address books etc. It also had an internet browser.

Sadly despite being a capable little machine, its lifespan was a short two years from 1997 to 1999.

Fewer than a thousand were made, and it is estimated that a mere one hundred survive.

Our machine came from Satherley Design Associates who worked on its industrial design. It is believed to be a pre-production model as it is missing all the function key markings and some of its buttons.
