Electronics Lab: Build a Boombox - Wednesday 19th February
Description :
Tired of the wimpy speakers in your iPhone? Is your Switch barely audible in tabletop mode? Really want to give it some welly? Then come along to our audio amplifier workshop and build your own portable stereo speaker system. Not only will you walk away with a completed kit, but you will also learn about electronics and how audio amplifiers work.. No electronics experience is required although you will need a steady hand to assemble the components and use our tools. This is a great workshop aimed at children aged from 10 upwards. All under 16's must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Spaces are limited for this hands-on session, so booking is required to ensure your place. Payment is taken by PayPal immediately. Please print a copy of the receipt that is displayed at the end of the payment process and bring it with you as your e-ticket. This workshop session is priced at £28 per participant and includes the cost of the kit and entry to the museum! Accompanying adults are charged our standard entry rate of £9.
Please note: Whilst we'll make every effort to help ensure your boombox works, careful assembly and soldering is required and we cannot be held responsible for any non-working kits due to poor assembly. There will be a safety and soldering briefing at the beginning of the session. Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
