A Parent's Guide to Videogames - Thursday 20th February 2020
Description : Do you know what a 'noob' is? How is that different from a 'newbie'? Are you worried that you or someone you know might be 'default'? To an outsider the world of videogames can be a baffling place with its own customs, communities and language. This confusion has lead to a lot of misconceptions and falsehoods about the effect gaming has on the people who play them. Join us this half term for a lively discussion where we will be dispelling some of the myths and presenting the benefits of games, as well as highlighting some of the legitimate concerns that you might not be aware of. Giving the talk will be Dan, a lifelong "gamer", videogame advocate and educator. He's taught English in Japan and England for many years and is a qualified Key Stage 3+4 English teacher. The talk will begin at 2pm. This is a drop-in event included as part of your general admission. Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
