DMC Devil May Cry (With Bonus Soundtrack CD)
Set in an alternate reality to the previous games, Dante is in the city of Limbo, and fighting the demons and civilian authorities they control, he teams up with a Psychic called Kat, who takes her to her boss Vergil, who is sure Dante can help by joining his organisation called the order, who are determined to rid the world of the demons.
Designed as a reboot for the DMC series, the development was handed to Cambridge's Ninja Theory, Capcom deliberatley went for a western developer, who they felt could take the game in a different direction, and were impressed with their game Heavenly Sword, and thought that game style would fit well in a DMC game.
A whole new combat system was created for the game, which was simple enough for new players to he series, while still catering for the more experienced players.
Ninja Theory had 80 people making the game, assisted by 10 from Capcom, and took around two years to develop.
Ninja Theory had to contend with death threats for the changes it made to the Dante character, the company argued that they needed to bring the character up to date for a new generation.
Includes a promotional soundtrack CD available only to pre-order customers and premium editions in Europe.
