The Legend of Zelda Tri Force Heroes
With a heavy focus on multiplayer co-operative action, The Legend of Zelda Tri Force Heroes is a video game for the Nintendo 3DS system which allows three players to traverse through multiple dungeons, solving puzzles and taking on bosses in order to lift a curse put on the Princess of Hytopia which has her trapped in an drab brown outfit that she can never change out of. The multiplayer could be played locally or online, where players could communicate using icons on the lower touch screen with preset phrases and images such as "Over here!" or "Item!".
Link will gain different abilities by changing outfits that will help to solve puzzles and access specific areas that were otherwise unexplorable. Although there is a focus on multiplayer, the main campaign can be played through solo, where the player will need to switch between the three Links in order to progress and carry the other two Links to move forward.
Tri Force Heroes is the third game in the Legend of Zelda series with a focus on multiplayer co-operative gameplay, following Four Swords on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and Four Swords Adventures on the Nintendo Gamecube, in which up to four players would be able to play.
