61857 LEO I Control Console during Installation (1950)

Description of Photograph

Digital copy of a photograph of the LEO I engineering console, partly constructed in the 'calculator room' at Cadby Hall.

Caption:  'The LEO I control console partly fitted up.'

This image appears in the interactive plan for our Virtual LEO I installation, p68.

Research comments: This is an early photograph showing one of LEO I's valve racks (with most of the covers removed) and the engineers' console, which is only partially constructed (on the left). Over time, the engineers hone down their ideas on what they need to be monitoring as LEO runs its programs and the console is gradually populated as a result. (LM)
