Research comments: This document is incomplete but does provide a useful summary fo the kinds of work LEO undertook. Caminer explains the notation used to distinguish different types of LEO computer programs: L jobs (i.e. program references prefixed by L) are Lyons clerical data processing jobs, E jobs are clerical data jobs undertaken by the Lyons bureau for other companies, O jobs are mathematical and statistical jobs carried out for the Lyons labs, nationalised industries, research bodies and market research organisations. M jobs are "computer house-keeping" jobs.

Caminer explains that computer operators run all the different types of job: "It is our belief that if data processing jobs are to be run accurately and economically in a controlled manner on a Computer they must be run by experts".

The document refers to the L1 job (Lyons payroll), L2 (Teashop Orders), L4 (Tea Blending), L5 (Bakery Invoicing), L6 (Sales Statistics and Delivery Planning) and E1 (Ford payroll).

Various types of E ad M job are referred to ranging from combustion calculations, pipeline calculations, pneumoconiosis research, crystallography, market research, pension scheme quotations, actuarial tables to railway distances and guided missile calculations.

M jobs include M14 (Computer Units Movement Control and Valve statistics and M15 (weekly analysis of computer usage).
