Zeroes and Ones Monster Chase - Tuesday 26th October 2021
Description : What does 01001000 01100101 01101100 01101100 01101111 mean? In ‘computer-speak’ or binary (as we humans like to call it!), it means ‘Hello’. All the information that is stored on computers is in binary. So, if you understand binary, you understand how a computer works. In this workshop, we will show you how binary numbers work. You can then use this concept to create a character on a 30-year old BBC Micro by turning binary digits on and off. Use your characters to code a simple chase game and see how many monsters you can chase before you run out of time! This workshop is aimed at children aged 11 and above and is ideal for children at the KS3 level.
Please note that all under 14's must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The fee is £15 for workshop participants. Accompanying adults are charged our standard entry fee of £9. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available from our Pac Lunch Shop. And, plenty of seating for parents :) Date: Tuesday 26th October 2021
Time: 2pm-4pm
Spaces for these exciting hands-on events are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place.
Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
