A metal punch card gauge used to check that punched holes in IBM cards were aligned correctly.

The surface of the gauge is marked like a punch card. A card can be placed over the top and held in place. The card can then be checked to see if the holes align with the printed surface. 
The reverse of the gauge contains instructions for its use.
