Bill English

William (Bill) English is a computer engineer who made important contributions to the development of the computer mouse whilst working for Douglas Engelbart at SRI International's Augmentation Research Center.
 
In 1971 he left SRI and took a position at Xerox Parc, where he managed the Office Systems Research Group. Whilst working at Xerox PARC, Bill developed the mouse ball, replacing the original set of wheels.
 
In 1989 he left Xerox Parc to work for Sun Microsystems.
