Goupil

SMT Goupil (SMT Corporation personal computers and telecommunications ) was a French company, created in 1979 by Claude Perdrillat , previously a senior employee at the Directorate General of Telecommunications .

During the 1980s the company Goupil produced many computers , mainly to the French administrations market, using contacts provided by the address book of its founder. Unfortunately, Goupil would collapse in the late 1980s, a victim of drastic budget cuts in the public sector and French rival companies marketing their technology far more aggressively. Ultimately the economic landscape and weak management of the company led to final bankruptcy in June 1991.
