Acorn System 1 Launched

The Acorn System 1 was originally called the Acorn Microcomputer and was the first commercial computer product marketed by Acorn Computers Limited.

It was designed by Sophie Wilson and supplied in kit form to computer enthusiasts.

It consisted of two eurocard boards the lower of which contained the 6502 microprocessor and supporting IC's whilst the upper board offered the 16 digit keypad and 9 digit 7 segment display.
