Photograph of the early document reader designed for LEO by John Pinkerton and Daniel Broido to read imperial foolscap sized stationery.

Published in Bird, Peter  LEO - The First Business Computer  (Wokingham: Hasler, 1994), plate 71.

Research Comments: LEO were early pioneers in reading original documents directly into computers, eliminating problems of data preparation and making possible dynamic large scale data processing. (LM)
