Connected to the computer with the ZX Interface 1. The unit added at least 85k on line storage, using a continuous tape loop, it provided high speed load and save. Eight of these drives could be daisy chained to the computer, each unit retailed at around £26.

Reliability problems both in the unit and the tape cartridges plagued the format. But this did not stop the Microdrive being used in the later QL computer with much the same problems.

The case matched the styling of the Spectrum, and although the drive was problematic, it is still fondly remembered and very collectible amongst Spectrum collectibles.
