From the preface: "This book is an extension of the OS PL/1 Optimizing Compiler: Programmers's Guide. It describes how to use the facilities of TSO to compile a PL/I program using the PL/I Optimizing Compiler, and how to execute the program. The reader is assumed to be familiar with PL/I and TSO; the manual covers both the OS/MVT and the 0S/VS2 versions of TSO."
