The Prism Networking Interface acoustic modem enabled a computer to connect to online services such as Prestel and Micronet 800. 

An acoustic modem is a device that allows a computer to transmit data over a standard telephone line by converting digital signals into audible tones and sending them through a telephone handset's speaker and microphone. 

The Prism Networking Interface was suitable for Apple, BBC Micro, CBM 3/4/8000, 380Z, ACT Sirius, IBM PC and TRS-80 computers.
