The Sportster 14,400 was an external fax and data modem designed for personal, home office, and small business use in the early 1990s. Manufactured by U.S. Robotics, it supports 14,400 bps Group III fax and transmits data at 14,400 bps with V.42/MNP 2-4 error control and V.42 bis/MNP 5 data compression, for throughput up to 57,600 bps. The Sportster allowed users to send and receive faxes directly from their computer, store delayed faxes, and maintain speed-dial phonebooks. Features:
