The Intel 16/4 MCA Token Ring Adapter is a network interface card designed for IBM’s Micro Channel Architecture (MCA) systems, enabling high-speed connections between PS/2 computers and Token Ring networks. This adapter can operate at 4 Mbps or 16 Mbps, depending on the speed of the the Token Ring network to which it is connected.

A Token Ring network is a type of local area network (LAN) in which devices are arranged in a logical ring and data is passed sequentially between them using a special data packet called a token. Only the device that holds the token is allowed to send data, which helps prevent collisions and ensures orderly access to the network.
