Sound Blaster SB2.0 8 bit Sound Card 1991 Reference: CT1350B Rev 4

The Sound Blaster 2.0 is an 8-bit ISA sound card developed by Creative Technology, a Singapore-based company sometimes known by the name of its U.S. subsidiary, Creative Labs. For many years, the Sound Blaster family of products was the de facto standard for audio on IBM PC-compatible systems.

Sound Blaster 2.0 introduced "auto-init" DMA support, allowing for smoother, continuous double-buffered audio playback. It also increased the maximum playback rate to 44 kHz, matching the capabilities of the Sound Blaster Pro, which launched around the same time. Earlier versions (1.0 and 1.5) could be upgraded to support auto-init DMA by replacing the socketed V1.00 DSP with a V2.00 DSP, available directly from Creative.

The example in our collection was kindly donated by Daniel and Matthew Ladbury.
