Sinclair launches the ZX80

The Sinclair ZX80 personal computer was launched by Sinclair Research Ltd of Cambridge on 29th January 1980. It was one of the first computers available to the British public for less than a hundred pounds. At launch, the ZX80 was available in kit form for £79.95, or fully assembled for £99.95.
The ZX80 immediately proved very popular, with a waiting list of several months for customers who placed orders.
