The first in the series of play along games, which with the help of plastic guitars and drums can have a group of people playing songs together, strumming and hitting the drums at the right time will increase the score.

Failure to play properly will result in the song aborting to boos from the crowd.

The game was a massive success, gaining revenues of $600 million, and also netted the included bands a huge payday, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blue Oyster Cult, Metallica and The Foo Fighters are just some of the bands featured.
