Swing into action with your Chibi-Plug and help Chibi-Robo save the world!

A further departure from the series roots, Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash is a side-scrolling platforming game, as opposed to it's predecessors, which were open world on a 3D plain. The player takes control of Chibi-Robo, a small, helpful robot who can use their Chibi-Plug (electrical socket and extension lead) to help them traverse levels and charge up their depleting battery gauge at corresponding charging stations (electical plug sockets). The goal of the game is to traverse every level collecting snacks that aliens have stolen, filling in a snack album and ultimately saving the world.

Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash also took advantage of the NFC (Near Field Communication) features of the 3DS and NEW 3DS with a special Chibi-Robo! Amiibo figure, unlocking bonus levels for extra gameplay. This function would need an extra adapter for use on 3DS, 3DS XL and 2DS consoles, whereas, the NEW 3DS and NEW 3DS XL would have this function built in. Once the player places the amiibo on the device, the bonus stage would unlock.
