Third-party creative programs for customising The Sims 2.

The Sims (1) had a comprehensive creative suite packed in, where users could paste their own photos onto a Sims face, and generate their own textures for clothes. Some third party packs were still made for manipulating other game files. (See: The Job Factory)

The level of customization in the Sims 2 was not as high, so these packs were created. They do appear to be based on the programs provided with The Sims (1). However, it's possible that the Sims 2 was focusing on the online community, who would generate and share their own clothes and likenesses for other users. The website hosting this was supported for a long time, before the site became an advertising placeholder for The Sims 3.
