CDC 1604 is introduced

On 16th October 1959, CDC released its model 1604 computer. Designed by Seymour Cray, the CDC 1604 was the most powerful computer of its day, and one of the first commercially successful transistorized computers.
Applications of the CDC 1604 included processing data in real time, controlling weapons systems, solving large-scale scientific problems, and commercial applications.
